Our Story

Stir Films was founded in 2021 by award-winning filmmaker Brendan Joel Hildebrandt, with a simple mission: to share stories in engaging and creative ways. Driven by a passion for documentary and factual storytelling, we specialise in bringing authentic stories to screen through imaginative, emotive filmmaking.

Our journey began with Dr. Russell's Imaginarium, a nationally broadcast documentary that shared the inspiring story of an antiques store owner’s childhood dream. Since then, we’ve continued to craft impactful, human-centered stories, including the award-winning web series World of Curiosities and the short documentary That Little Emu.

With over a decade of experience across a diverse range of projects and a Master of Screen Studies from the WA Screen Academy, Brendan’s curiosity-led approach shapes Stir Films’ cinematic, warm-hearted productions.
