Our Story

Stir Films was founded in 2021 by award-winning filmmaker Brendan Joel, with a simple mission: to share stories in engaging and creative ways. Driven by a passion for documentary and factual storytelling, we specialise in bringing authentic stories to screen through imaginative, emotive filmmaking.

Our journey began with Dr Russell's Imaginarium, a nationally broadcast documentary sharing the inspiring story of an antiques store owner’s childhood dream. Since then, we’ve partnered with businesses, creatives, and organisations to share human-centered stories that make an impact.

With over a decade of experience across a diverse range of projects and a Master of Screen Studies from the WA Screen Academy, Brendan’s curiosity-led approach shapes Stir Films’ cinematic, warm-hearted, and moving storytelling.
