Our Story

Stir Films was founded in 2021 by award-winning filmmaker Brendan Joel, with a simple mission: to share stories in engaging and creative ways. Driven by a passion for documentary and factual storytelling, we specialise in bringing authentic stories to screen through imaginative, emotive filmmaking.

Our journey began with Dr. Russell's Imaginarium, a nationally broadcast documentary that shared the inspiring story of an antiques store owner’s childhood dream. Since then, we’ve continued to craft impactful, human-centered stories, including the award-winning web series World of Curiosities and the short documentary That Little Emu.

With over a decade of experience across a diverse range of projects and a Master of Screen Studies from the WA Screen Academy, Brendan’s curiosity-led approach shapes Stir Films’ cinematic, warm-hearted productions.

In 2024, we launched Through Video, our dedicated video production arm for business and corporate video production. Focusing on creating high-quality training, informational, and brand-focused videos, Through Video ensures your message is communicated clearly and effectively. We bring the same creative approach to corporate videos as we do to storytelling, ensuring every project delivers both impact and value.
